Social Studies

I was born in Seattle, Washington and attended the University of Washington where I completed my BA in Cultural Anthropology and spent four years as a public radio disc jockey. I married my high school sweetheart and after a brief stint as a police officer in Bloomfield, New Mexico, I returned to Seattle to complete my Master of Education  in Secondary Education. I started my teaching career at North Stafford High School in Virginia, taught middle school Social Studies in Pace, Florida before moving to Meridian, MS where I also taught middle school Social Studies. Taking a break from teaching to raise my kids, I moved to Japan where we lived for five years and traveled extensively throughout Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Moving to Hawaii I taught at a private school specializing in gifted students with learning disabilities and behavioral disorders. My family and I are so happy to settle down here in Utah where we can ski and hike in the mountains surrounding Ogden. I also love traveling, reading, movies, and exploring. I am currently working on a Master of History degree through Arizona State University and I am so excited to be a part of a dynamic team of educators at Weber Innovation High School.
