Law Enforcement

I was born in Utah County but lived most my life in the Salt Lake County. I attended Bingham High School for 2 years and graduated from Copper Hills High School. I competed in pole vault for the track and field team while in high school. After Graduating I spent time working construction but always wanted to get in to law enforcement. I attended the police academy at Salt Lake Community College and graduated in 2010. I was able to find work as a part time officer for Logan PD for a few months but was offered a full time job from Ogden PD and started working there in 2011. I’ve worked in many different positions with the police department and gained a lot of experience. I’ve been assigned to Patrol, Honor Guard, Crime Reduction Unit, Training, SWAT, and Narcotics Investigation. The last two are my current duties. While working as an officer I also helped coach the pole vault team for my Copper Hills High School. I enjoyed being involved in helping kids accomplish goals. When I was offered a chance to teach law enforcement at Weber Innovation High School I saw it as a chance to work with kids again and to hopefully have a positive influence on their lives. I really enjoy being able to share information about my career (which I love and feel can be very misunderstood) and hope to help kids see me and others involved in my profession in a positive light and gain a better understanding of the importance of good choices and working to accomplish goals in their life.
